June’s Epic UK Bike Tour 2025 Land’s End to John O’Groats, aka LEJOG

Prologue

It is a bit after 4 pm on Sunday July 27 and the big day is here - I’m off to the airport at 7:30 pm to fly overnight to Heathrow airport in London, UK to start a very exciting and somewhat scary bike trip across the entirety of the UK - 1100 miles in 21 days.

I will be traveling with my favorite group - ExperiencePlus! - but this time will be a first without Peter. This type of “expedition” tour is not his cup of tea and he’s been wrestling with some brain fog issues, so he will sit this one out.

I’m hugely fortunate to be able to have a roommate - Nadine is from Edmonton and we traveled together in Portugal in 2016. It will make it way more fun to share with a like-minded traveler and hey - she’s Canadian!!!😄

I will be attempting to blog at undetermined intervals. Stage 1 of the trip will be a visit to Bath to see cousins I’ve not seen since 2009! Very excited about that and the chance to reconnect.

The group will meet in Penzance August 1 and from there shuttle to Lands End and the start of our adventure. I’m totally thrilled to be using an E-bike as my climbing skills are diminished since 2014 and our Scotland tour.

Packing is always a bit stressful but I have an awesome new carryon bag. The photos are before and after to give you a sense of how much stuff can be packed in two bags - a month of travel is a long time!

Onwards and upwards! Feel free to message me but remember the 6 hour time difference - right now it’s 10:16 pm in Bath!

  1. Hi June! This is Jeanne DeMund…old login handle above. Have a great ride. We did a Cornwall circuit 2 years ago…nothing as ambitious as you are doing, but did see Lands End. And BONUS for doing it with a Canadian. I’ll watch for your posts now that Leisa found the blog through FB, as I’m not on FB anymore. Leisa is here in Seattle for a visit and we both would very much like to see you some time. Have FUN!!
